Deck overview

This Esper deck is an aggressive tribal aristocrats build piloted by Varina, Lich Queen. It establishes early board presence with low-cost Zombies, then leverages Varina's attack triggers to filter through the library, sculpt a full hand, and seed the graveyard with high-impact creatures. The deck transitions into a lethal mid-game via mass reanimation spells like Living Death, Patriarch's Bidding, and Zombie Apocalypse, or high-devotion swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Aristocrat payoffs like Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight, and Diregraf Captain convert creature ETBs and death triggers into heavy life drain while Noxious Ghoul continuously suppresses opposing creature boards. Backed by cheap, efficient interaction and counterspells, the deck exhibits high resilience against conventional board wipes by converting removed creatures into future reanimation targets.
