Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated monoblack hand-attrition and Voltron strategy commanded by Tourach, Dread Cantor. Its primary game plan revolves around aggressively stripping cards from all opponents' hands using symmetric discard spells like Delirium Skeins, Dark Deal, and persistent engines like Bottomless Pit. Every discarded card places a +1/+1 counter on Tourach, rapidly transforming the 2-mana commander into a lethal combat threat. While opponents are forced into top-deck mode and starved of interaction, Tourach closes out the game through commander damage supported by evasion equipment and Tainted Strike. Alternate win conditions include stealing opposing permanents with Tergrid, God of Fright and grinding down life totals via rack effects like Megrim, Raiders' Wake, and Shrieking Affliction. The deck excels at resource denial and mid-game pressure but has limited instant-speed interaction and relies heavily on combat steps to finish the table.
