Deck overview

This mono-black competitive stax and combo deck leverages Braids, Cabal Minion from the command zone to enforce early, asymmetric resource denial. Backed by explosive 0-to-1 CMC fast mana (Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, Chrome Mox, Ancient Tomb), the deck deploys Braids or Contamination alongside self-recurring token generators (Bitterblossom, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Gravecrawler) on Turns 2–3. This forces opponents to sacrifice their initial lands and permanents during their upkeeps, crippling their mana development before they can cast interaction. Complementary stax pieces such as Trinisphere, Chains of Mephistopheles, Cursed Totem, and Torpor Orb suppress alternative routes, while elite card draw engines like Necropotence, Ad Nauseam, and The One Ring assemble a compact win condition. The primary finish uses Warren Soultrader, Gravecrawler, and Blood Artist to execute an infinite life drain loop, or capitalizes on high-mana payoffs like Torment of Hailfire and Dark Depths.
