Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines aggressive Voltron pressure with resilient Food-based aristocrat engines led by Ygra, Eater of All. Ygra turns every creature on the battlefield into an artifact Food, causing any creature death to fuel its power with +1/+1 counters while imposing an onerous Ward cost that forces opponents to sacrifice their own creatures to target it. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana dorks and rocks, rapidly deploying token doublers and synergy engines like Peregrin Took, Camellia, the Seedmiser, and Chatterfang, Squirrel General. It threatens rapid elimination through massive commander damage, asymmetric board wipes like Fade from History, and life-drain engines like Mirkwood Bats. It also features an instant-speed infinite combo in Peregrin Took and Experimental Confectioner, drawing the library and generating infinite tokens. Robust protection spells and redundant backup win lines ensure resilient and consistent gameplay.
