Deck overview

This mono-black midrange deck leverages K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to convert life into mana velocity. Supported by a dense land base of 41 lands, the deck deploys K'rrik on Turn 4 to discount heavy black mana costs. It uses black draw spells and token generators such as Dreadhorde Invasion and March from the Black Gate to build a steady board presence before casting massive payoff spells like Army of the Damned or mass reanimation via Awakening Hall. It features abundant creature removal and board sweepers like Damnation and Life's Finale to suppress opposing boards. Because the deck lacks fast mana acceleration, universal tutors, and stack interaction, it wins primarily through gradual combat attrition across multiple attack steps while using K'rrik's lifelink to offset aggressive life spending.
