Commander: Thraximundar

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

Thraximundar leads a Grixis combo deck designed to win through rapid spell loops rather than commander combat. Thraximundar serves as a late-game removal threat and sacrifice payoff if the board stalls. The primary game plan rushes to resolve Rooftop Storm, enabling game-ending loops. Casting Acererak the Archlich with Rooftop Storm ventures through the Lost Mine of Phandelver dungeon infinitely to drain opponents without entering the graveyard. Alternatively, sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Altar combine with Gravecrawler and Diregraf Captain to drain life totals. High-impact card advantage from Necropotence, Ad Nauseam, and premium black tutors ensures rapid assembly while free counterspells protect the winning turn.
