Deck overview

Alela, Cunning Conqueror leads a UB flash/tempo shell that wins largely without her: the deck digs and transmutes toward a historic-cast engine-usually Cabal Paladin with Mirran Spy and Ornithopter under Banishing Knack or Retraction Helix-to generate infinite 2-damage triggers, or toward a Peregrine Drake/Ghostly Flicker loop for infinite mana into Bloodrite Invoker. Alela contributes Faerie tokens on each opponent's turn and goads blockers, buying time for the fragile combo. Secondary paths are evasive Faerie beats and Crypt Rats/Consume Spirit drains. No double-faced commander exists; the only DFC, Aetherblade Agent//Gitaxian Mindstinger, is a modest two-drop draw engine if transformed. The low curve keeps early cantrips and counterspells flowing.
