Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue combo-control strategy led by Orvar, the All-Form. The primary game plan accelerates into Orvar on Turn 3 or 4, then leverages cheap targeting spells to duplicate permanents and generate insurmountable resource advantage. Its core win condition exploits Whim of Volrath with buyback alongside cost reducers like Sapphire Medallion or Baral, Chief of Compliance. This creates infinite untapped Island tokens and infinite mana, allowing the deck to duplicate Spellseeker or Aether Channeler to tutor and draw its entire library before closing the game immediately with Thassa's Oracle. A fully independent backup line uses Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal to achieve identical results without the commander. Defensively, the deck protects its combo using 1-mana protection spells that double as Orvar copy triggers, backed by a robust suite of free and low-cost countermagic.
