Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Bant creature deck commanded by Helga, Skittish Seer. The strategy ramps into Helga on Turn 2 or 3, then exploits her ability to turn every creature spell with mana value 4 or greater into a card-drawing, life-gaining, mana-producing engine. As Helga grows, she taps for massive bursts of colored mana, allowing the deck to chain large threats, hydras, and evoke spells in rapid succession. The primary victory condition builds overwhelming board states via +1/+1 counter doublers like Kalonian Hydra, Branching Evolution, and Cathars' Crusade, delivering lethal combat damage across all opponents. The list also packs an instant-win backup loop with Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista. A dense suite of cheap counterspells, phasing effects, and indestructible shields keeps the engine protected against opposing board wipes.
