Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Jeskai spellslinger and combat saboteur strategy commanded by Massimo, the Magician. The core plan revolves around using cheap 1-CMC instants and sorceries to seed the graveyard, allowing Massimo and subsequent creatures to imprint those spells upon entry. By attacking with evasive creatures like Invisible Stalker, Slither Blade, and Mist-Cloaked Herald, the deck casts copied spells for free each combat step. These free casts trigger potent magecraft and spellslinger payoffs including Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival, and Monastery Mentor. The deck achieves consistent mana acceleration through low-cost artifact ramp and treasure producers like Storm-Kiln Artist, while maintaining efficient interaction through 1-mana removal spells. It presents a must-answer damage clock by Turn 5 and reliably closes games around Turn 7 via multi-combat sequences and table-wide burn.
