Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Abzan stax and midrange combo list commanded by Thalia and The Gitrog Monster. It establishes early table control by deploying asymmetric hatebears on Turn 2. The commander forces opponents' nonbasic lands and creatures to enter tapped, while Drannith Magistrate, Collector Ouphe, and Opposition Agent shut down commanders, artifact mana, and search effects. The deck breaks parity using 1-mana creature dorks and the commander's extra land drops. Powerful draw engines like The One Ring, Necropotence, and Sylvan Library provide consistent card flow to assemble the win. The primary win condition is an infinite sacrifice loop utilizing Reveillark, Karmic Guide, and Phyrexian Altar paired with an aristocrat such as Blood Artist or Cruel Celebrant to drain all opponents from 40 to 0 on Turn 4. Robust silence effects like Grand Abolisher and Ranger-Captain of Eos ensure the combo executes without interruption.
