Deck overview

This Dimir tempo deck leverages a dense suite of low-cost, unblockable creatures alongside Sygg, River Cutthroat to establish an efficient early card-advantage engine. By consistently dealing unblockable combat damage, the deck triggers Sygg, Bident of Thassa, and cipher spells to steadily refill its hand while chipping away at opponents' life totals. Damage amplifiers such as Dark Knight's Greatsword and Stinkdrinker Bandit accelerate this clock, helping meet Sygg's 3-damage threshold and transforming chip damage into meaningful pressure. Mid-to-late game closers include Notorious Throng for extra-turn token swarms and Elbrus, the Binding Blade for a massive flying threat in Withengar Unbound. The deck maintains interactive control with an eight-card counterspell suite to shield its board from sweepers and disrupt opposing combos. However, because it lacks tutors, fast mana, and answers to resolved noncreature permanents, the deck relies on steady combat connections and natural draws to close out games across multiple turn rotations.
