Dead Skin Mask by jmajewicz23

Format: Commander

Commander: Volrath the Fallen

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black reanimator/combo deck built around Volrath the Fallen as a discard outlet and one-turn pump. The core plan is to load the graveyard with expensive creatures like Draco, Shadow of Morality, Stratadon, and Hypnox, then either reanimate them with Reanimate, Necromancy, and Living Death, or pitch them to Volrath to turn him into an evasive one-shot kill. The cleanest finishers are Super State plus Tainted Strike for a table-killing swing and the Staff of Domination/Magus of the Coffers loop into Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Syr Konrad, the Grim and Gray Merchant also act as grind/drain payofs. It is a hybrid deck: the commander accelerates and finishes, but the genuine win conditions live in the 99.
