Deck overview

Built around Animar's cost-reduction engine, the deck's primary plan is to ramp into Animar, pump him with cheap creature spells, then loop Ancestral Statue to create arbitrarily many +1/+1 counters. With Walking Ballista in hand, that counter count pays for a Ballista with lethal X and finishes all opponents. Secondary paths use Maelstrom Wanderer, Apex Devastator, and Ulamog as cascade/haste beatdown threats, while cheap tutors and card draw find whichever piece is missing. Maelstrom Wanderer acts as a hidden commander for the fair backup game. The deck is fast, tutor-heavy, and interactive, but it leans on Animar surviving for its fastest line.
