Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Horror tribal and mill reanimator strategy commanded by Captain N'ghathrod. The deck establishes early board presence with evasive Horrors and mana rocks before deploying its commander on Turn 4. Captain N'ghathrod gives all Horrors menace and causes combat damage to mill opponents, triggering an end-step ability that steals milled creatures or artifacts. The deck applies mounting pressure through combat, massive graveyard scaling from Consuming Aberration and Guiltfeeder, and life drain via Syr Konrad, the Grim. It features an infinite two-card mill and drain combo in Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank. A lean interaction suite of counterspells, spot removal, and stax pieces like Ashiok, Dream Render and Defense Grid disrupts opponents while protecting the board. The deck reliably closes games on Turn 7.
