Deck overview

This deck is a aggressive Mardu midrange engine built around Fire Lord Zuko. It leverages the synergy between exile mechanics and aggressive combat steps. Every spell cast from exile and every permanent entering from exile places +1/+1 counters on your entire creature army. At the same time, attacking with Zuko generates substantial red firebending mana to spend on mid-combat abilities, instant-speed impulse draw, or high-impact spells. Cards like Norin the Wary, Prosper, Tome-Bound, and Showdown of the Skalds ensure a continuous stream of triggers and fresh cards. The deck accelerates quickly from establishing its commander on Turn 3 into presenting overwhelming lethal board states by Turn 5. Protection spells such as Deflecting Swat and Teferi's Protection keep the aggressive core safe from sweepers, while Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest and Ozai, the Phoenix King provide massive closing power.
