Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hakbal of the Surging Soul commands a Simic tribal aggro deck that rapidly converts small Merfolk into massive, evasive threats through repetitive explore triggers. Hakbal serves as the central engine, turning every Merfolk into a card-drawing, counter-generating attacker the turn he enters. The primary win condition is overwhelming combat damage delivered through unblockable effects like Herald of Secret Streams and Deepchannel Mentor, or one-sided board wipes like Raise the Palisade and Wave Goodbye. Secondary win conditions include Simic Ascendancy fueled by explosive counter doublers like Branching Evolution, and wide-board swarm amplified by clone effects copying Hakbal.
