Deck overview

Splinter, Radical Rat heads an aggressive Esper Ninja tempo deck that leverages combat damage triggers and trigger duplication. The game plan opens with inexpensive, evasive creatures such as Changeling Outcast and April O'Neil to establish reliable attack avenues. Once Splinter hits the battlefield, every combat damage trigger produced by a Ninja triggers twice. This duplication supercharges draw engines like Ingenious Infiltrator and turns saboteurs like Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, Fallen Shinobi, and Shredder, Shadow Master into game-ending threats. The deck controls the board using efficient spot removal, versatile countermagic, and asymmetric sweepers like Raise the Palisade that clear non-Ninja blockers. While vulnerable to well-timed creature removal before combat damage, the deck's high card velocity and redundant Ninjutsu/Sneak threats allow it to consistently threaten a Turn 6 table finish.
