Commander: Blech, Loafing Pest

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Blech, Loafing Pest is a life-gain +1/+1 counters midrange strategy. The primary game plan is to gain life repeatedly through creatures, tokens, and spells, triggering Blech's ability to put a +1/+1 counter on every Pest, Bat, Insect, Snake, and Spider you control. The deck includes a dense creature base of those types, token generators like Pest Infestation and Essenceknit Scholar, and life-gain payoffs such as Enduring Tenacity (drain) and Heroic Feast (counters). Win conditions include combat damage with a pumped board (often with trample from Emil, Vastlands Roamer or Thornfist Striker) and incremental drain from Enduring Tenacity and Vengeful Bloodwitch. The deck has moderate recursion and protection but lacks tutors and fast mana, making it a slower, value-oriented build that aims to outlast opponents through incremental advantage.
