Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Golgari midrange build commanded by Willowdusk, Essence Seer. The game plan revolves around leveraging swings in life totals to place massive quantities of +1/+1 counters onto key creatures. By combining burst lifegain spells like Feed the Clan and Pulse of Murasa with lifelink threats, Willowdusk rapidly supercharges attackers into lethal beaters. The deck converts these large bodies into victory through trample-granting effects like Garruk's Uprising and Blossoming Bogbeast, or by sacrificing them to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to drain the entire table simultaneously. A robust interaction package anchored by Assassin's Trophy, Beast Within, and Mortality Spear answers diverse permanent threats, while draw engines like Greed, Well of Lost Dreams, and Toski, Bearer of Secrets keep resources flowing. While the deck lacks instant-speed stack interaction and high-speed mana positive rocks, it generates formidable on-board pressure that quickly overwhelms unprepared opponents.
