Deck overview

This Jund Lands deck is helmed by Szarel, Genesis Shepherd, focusing on sacrificing lands for value and replaying them repeatedly from the graveyard. Early turns focus on ramping with cards like Farseek, Nature's Lore, and Harrow to cast Szarel on Turn 4. Once Szarel is active, fetchlands and land-sacrifice effects trigger +1/+1 counters while maintaining continuous land drops. Midgame engines like The Gitrog Monster, Korvold, Fae-Cursed King, and Hearthhull, the Worldseed draw massive quantities of cards while filling the graveyard with lands. In the late game, mass landfall payoffs including Avenger of Zendikar, Scute Swarm, Titania, Protector of Argoth, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum convert land recursion spells like Splendid Reclamation into game-ending armies. The deck plays a robust, highly redundant game plan capable of grinding through removal, closing games on Turn 7 via overwhelming combat damage.
