Deck overview

Lightning, Army of One is a Boros equipment-voltron deck built to make one combat step lethal. Lightning's Stagger doubles all subsequent damage to a player, so the deck stacks double strike and power equipment on him; first-strike damage triggers Stagger and the regular damage step arrives already doubled. Secondary paths suit up Cloud, Planet's Champion, Gilgamesh, or Beatrix and win through evasive double-striking attackers, with extra combat from Genji Glove and Hexplate Wallbreaker. There is no true hidden commander; Ardenn and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary are support pieces that find and attach equipment. The commander is the primary kill condition, but the deck can pivot to other equipped threats if Lightning is taxed or removed.
