Deck overview

This list is a competitive Abzan stax-combo deck piloted by Tayam, Luminous Enigma. The deck’s game plan centers on deploying early mana acceleration and stax pieces on Turns 1 and 2 to suppress opposing fast combo strategies. Key hatebears such as Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Collector Ouphe lock down opposing command zones, spell counts, and artifact mana. Because Tayam's engine functions entirely through activated abilities at instant speed, it cleanly breaks parity on Rule of Law effects. By Turn 4, the deck leverages deep creature tutoring to assemble an infinite recursion engine using Devoted Druid and Centaur Garden or the compact two-card loop of Rosie Cotton of South Lane and Basking Broodscale. Once infinite mill and mana are established, Agatha's Soul Cauldron and Walking Ballista eliminate all three opponents on the same turn.
