Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern, leveraging forced sacrifice and discard to steal opponents' permanents. The primary game plan is to deploy Tergrid early, then chain edicts and discard spells to strip hands and boards while accumulating stolen resources. The deck wins through overwhelming value-beating down with stolen creatures, Tergrid itself, and incidental drain from Fell Specter or Tinybones, Trinket Thief's activated ability. It has no infinite combos, relying instead on incremental advantage and resource denial. The commander is the central engine; without it, the deck still disrupts opponents but loses its primary payoff.
