Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Built around Smaug the Impenetrable, this BR deck turns noncombat damage into an avalanche of Treasure tokens. The commander's indestructible, hasty 8/7 body makes it both a mana battery and a resilient attacker. The primary plan is to accelerate with Treasure generators and cost reducers, cast Smaug, then use sweepers and pings such as Blasphemous Act, Chain Reaction, and Pyrohemia to generate huge hoards and finish with X-spells, artifact-count wins, or token drains. Secondary paths use Wrathful Red Dragon and Fiendlash to convert each ping into damage, plus There and Back Again, Academy Manufactor, and Mirkwood Bats as an alternate combo. There is no double-faced commander; the hidden commander in the 99 is Wrathful Red Dragon as the main damage-conversion enabler.
