Commander: Maelstrom Wanderer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This RUG deck is a cascading battlecruiser built around Maelstrom Wanderer. Its primary plan is to ramp to eight mana, cast the commander for double cascade, and turn the resulting hasty creatures and free spells into a burn finish. Secondary paths rely on other cascade threats (Quandrix, The Proof; Imoti; Apex Devastator) and a spell-matters payload: Niv-Mizzet, Parun, Guttersnipe, Aria of Flame and Fiery Inscription convert every instant/sorcery into damage. Maelstrom Wanderer is the main payoff; the hidden commander role is played by Quandrix, The Proof, which keeps the cascade chain going even if the Wanderer is unavailable. The deck has no deterministic combo, so victory comes from sequencing cascades and applying table pressure.
