Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Grixis Villain typal and discard midrange strategy commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The game plan revolves around leveraging the connive mechanic during combat to filter through the library, pump attacking Villains with +1/+1 counters, and burn opponents whenever lands are discarded. In the opening turns, the deck establishes its mana base with signets and talismans before deploying Doctor Doom alongside high-utility Villains like Ultron, Unlimited, Leader, Super-Genius, and Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord. As cards are discarded and cycled, engines such as Inti, Seneschal of the Sun, Containment Construct, and Archfiend of Ifnir turn discard costs into substantial card advantage and one-sided creature suppression. The deck closes games through evasive combat damage bolstered by The Squadron Sinister alongside steady non-combat life loss from Glint-Horn Buccaneer and Doctor Doom. Backed by elite free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, the deck maintains a resilient, compounding board presence.
