Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar with Acolyte of Bahamut to bridge big-mana Dragons with aristocrat card draw and reanimation. Early turns establish dense mana acceleration via one-drop dorks and land enchantments, facilitating an early deployment of the commander and background. Acolyte reduces the cost of large Dragons, enabling early deployment of high-power bodies that Shadowheart sacrifices to draw bursts of 5 to 7 cards. These massive refills stock the graveyard and hand, fueling mass reanimation spells like Patriarch's Bidding and Victimize. The endgame translates this raw board dominance into table-wide lethality through evasive Dragon beatdown and direct life-loss triggers from Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and The Skullspore Nexus. While weak to dedicated graveyard hate and interaction targeting Shadowheart before activation, its sheer card velocity creates resilient mid-to-late game inevitability.
