Gandalf

Format: Commander

Commander: Gandalf, Party Guest

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Gandalf, Party Guest is a Jeskai 'legendary Wizards matter' storm engine. The deck floods the board with cheap legendary Wizards to raise Gandalf's X, then free-casts high-cost instants and sorceries at the beginning of combat. Primary wins are extra-turn chains through Time Warp and Thousand-Year Storm, followed by token swarms from Talrand and Kykar and direct damage from Gandalf's Sanction or Gandalf the Grey. Secondary paths use Improvisation Capstone and Call Forth the Tempest to chain free spells. Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy is a transformative 99-card engine; there is no true hidden commander. The deck is fast but fragile, needing a critical mass of Wizards before going off.
