Deck overview

This Grixis deck leverages the dread power of Mordor through an aggressive Midrange and Reanimator shell. Headed by Sauron, Lord of the Rings and featuring Sauron, the Dark Lord, the deck exploits the 9-copy Nazgûl allowance to build an overwhelming board of growing Wraith Knights. Early turns focus on mana rocks like Talisman of Indulgence and persistent value engines like Call of the Ring, Rhystic Study, and The One Ring. The deck fills the graveyard through self-mill, Buried Alive, and looting triggers, setting up explosive reanimation with Reanimate, Victimize, and Virtue of Persistence. As the Ring tempts repeatedly, each Nazgûl places +1/+1 counters on all friendly Wraiths, quickly turning modest creatures into lethal threats. Supported by premium interaction including Fierce Guardianship, Mana Drain, and Toxic Deluge, the deck disrupts opposing strategies while maintaining steady pressure to overrun the table through evasive combat.
