Deck overview

This Grixis Artifact Midrange deck is commanded by Mai and Zuko, using their static ability to cast artifact and Ally spells at instant speed to control the tempo of the game. The deck combines dense low-cost mana rocks and artifact lands with cost-reduction mechanics like Affinity and Improvise. By flashing in game-ending beaters such as Kappa Cannoneer, Nettlecyst, Auton Soldier, and The Dalek Emperor on opponents' end steps, the deck completely bypasses sorcery-speed removal and attacks immediately on its following turn. In addition, the commander generates burst Firebending mana upon attacking, funding large follow-up plays and mana-sink activations. A versatile suite of counterspells and asymmetric wipes like Phyrexian Scriptures and Delete protects the board while clearing opposing creatures. The deck finishes games reliably through overwhelming combat damage across multiple evasive threats, offering high operational resilience and reactive flexibility without relying on infinite combos.
