Deck overview

This Boros Voltron deck utilizes Sami, Wildcat Captain to grant universal affinity for artifacts to all spells, drastically reducing the cost of high-impact equipment, heavy utility spells, and game-ending artifacts. Early turns focus on laying down artifact lands, low-cost equipment, and mana rocks to build artifact density. On Turn 4, Sami enters at a heavy discount, bringing built-in double strike and vigilance to the battlefield. By Turn 5, equipment tutors like Steelshaper's Gift and Open the Armory fetch massive power boosts such as Colossus Hammer, which turn Sami into a 14/14 double-striking juggernaut capable of dealing 28 lethal commander damage in a single swing. Robust protective tools including Mithril Coat, Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, and Boros Charm shield the commander as it eliminates opponents in sequence. Backup beaters like Cloud, Planet's Champion ensure consistent offensive pressure even if the commander is contested.
