Lathril

Format: Commander

Commander: Lathril, Blade of the Elves

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a focused Golgari Elf tribal swarm strategy helmed by Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary plan is to generate a wide army of Elf tokens through Lathril's combat damage triggers, then use the commander's activated ability to drain each opponent for 10 life by tapping ten untapped Elves. Support comes from +1/+1 counter synergies (Branching Evolution, Fangs of Kalonia), explosive mana via Priest of Titania and several mana dorks, and value engines like Pact of the Serpent and Song of Freyalise. The back-up combat plan relies on mass buffs like Unnatural Growth and token-spawning spells to outsize opponents. The deck lacks compact infinite combos or fast tutors, so games revolve around assembling the critical mass of creatures and grinding out damage.
