Deck overview

This is a Gruul face-down tribal deck helmed by Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods. The primary strategy is to deploy a critical mass of morph/manifest/disguise creatures, leverage Yarus's haste and recursion to generate continuous card advantage, and eventually overrun opponents with a combination of massive combat damage from high-power creatures (Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Pathbreaker Ibex) and ETB pingers (Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, Pyrotechnic Performer). The commander's ability to return face-down creatures to the battlefield and turn them face up on death provides a resilient engine, but the deck lacks explosive speed, relying on incremental value and a top-heavy curve to close out games.
