Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan toughness-matters combat archetype commanded by Felothar the Steadfast. It turns low-cost, high-toughness defenders into devastating offensive beaters. In the opening turns, the deck deploys defensive creatures and ramp pieces like Wall of Roots, Overgrown Battlement, and Axebane Guardian to establish board presence and accelerate mana. Deploying Felothar on turn 4 unlocks both offensive combat capability for all defenders and an explosive card-draw engine that sacrifices high-toughness creatures to refill the hand. The deck leverages asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers to clear opposing boards while leaving its low-power army completely intact. It closes games around turns 6 to 8 by granting evasion with Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa or Behind the Scenes and pushing lethal combat damage with massive stat boosts from Tower Defense and Baldin, Century Herdmaster.
