Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Boros Equipment Midrange strategy helmed by Akiri, Fearless Voyager. The game plan revolves around rapidly deploying efficient Equipment, cheating equip costs through cards like Sigarda's Aid, Forge Anew, and Puresteel Paladin, and turning creatures into lethal threats. Akiri, Fearless Voyager provides critical card draw whenever equipped creatures attack, while offering built-in protection against destruction by unattaching equipment. The deck features a dense tutor suite capable of finding key utility artifacts, high-impact weapons like Colossus Hammer and Embercleave, or the game-ending Godo, Bandit Warlord and Helm of the Host combo. Robust defensive options—including free spells like Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, and Flare of Fortitude alongside Teferi's Protection—ensure that key threats survive opposing disruption. It reliably establishes a dominant combat board by Turn 5 and closes the game through lethal combat steps by Turn 7.
