Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain control strategy helmed by Elenda, Saint of Dusk. It establishes an early life total cushion using efficient lifegain staples like Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, and Authority of the Consuls. By quickly raising life totals above 50, Elenda, Saint of Dusk becomes a massive 10/10 menace lifelinker with built-in hexproof from instants. The deck controls opposing creature strategies through a massive suite of 12 board wipes, including modal answers like Farewell and Austere Command. Mid-to-late turns convert high life totals and lifegain triggers into game-winning pressure using cards like Archangel of Thune, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, alongside the infinite pairing of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond. Its primary limitation is a total absence of instant-speed interaction, forcing it to play entirely at sorcery speed.
