Commander: Fire Lord Zuko

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Mardu extra-combat deck built around Fire Lord Zuko's firebending mana and exile-cast synergies. The plan is to develop mana early, cast Fire Lord Zuko on turn three, then use exile-based card flow and combat to turn attacking into red mana and +1/+1 counters. From there, the deck strings together extra combat phases using Aggravated Assault, Hellkite Charger, Savage Beating, Great Train Heist, and Aurelia, the Warleader, generating enough red via Neheb, the Eternal, Sozin's Comet, Avatar Roku, Firebender, and rituals to chain combats until the table is dead. The commander is a powerful early engine, but the combo lines are distributed throughout the 99, with Neheb, the Eternal, Ashling, Flame Dancer, and Leyline Tyrant acting as hidden alternate mana engines. Secondary wins include a giant Chandra's Ignition and incidental burn from Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest and Valakut Exploration.
