Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie tribal and reanimator strategy helmed by The Scarab God. The primary game plan focuses on filling the graveyard with high-impact creatures through self-mill, deploying efficient Zombie lords, and leveraging the commander's ability to create 4/4 token copies at instant speed. Accelerated by a dense suite of two-mana artifacts, the deck reliably casts its commander on turn four and activates its engine on turn five. Once online, The Scarab God provides steady card selection and life drain during each upkeep while weaponizing both friendly and opposing graveyards. Key payoffs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Grave Titan, and Noxious Ghoul turn token generation into massive life swings and one-sided board suppression. The deck features built-in resilience thanks to its commander returning to hand on death, backed by countermagic and targeted removal. It closes games around turn eight through compounding upkeep drain and an unblockable, flying, or menace-buffed Zombie horde.
