Hazel of the Rootbloom by lucasmetzger26

Format: Commander

Commander: Hazel of the Rootbloom

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hazel of the Rootbloom runs a Golgari Squirrel-token engine that turns a wide board into extra mana and even more tokens. The primary plan is to generate a critical mass of Squirrels through Squirrel Nest, Deep Forest Hermit, Chatterfang, and Hazel's end-step copying, then win with Craterhoof Behemoth or Beastmaster Ascension trample. A secondary aristocrats plan uses Mirkwood Bats, Bastion of Remembrance, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Nadier's Nightblade to drain opponents as tokens die. Jaheira, Friend of the Forest acts as an unofficial second commander by making every token tap for green. The deck does not fold without Hazel; it can sustain the board with token generators and finish through drain or combat.
