Deck overview

This deck is an Esper combo-control deck that pairs Sphinx tribal synergies with high-efficiency combo finishes. It uses elite acceleration like Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Dark Ritual to establish early card advantage engines like Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, or Esper Sentinel. While the Eminence ability of The Ur-Sphinx discounts midgame Sphinxes such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Tivit, Seller of Secrets, the deck's primary victory route is assembling the compact Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation combo on Turn 4. Dense black and blue tutors provide rapid access to combo pieces, while interaction like Force of Will, Dovin's Veto, and Ranger-Captain of Eos protects the winning turn. If the primary combo is disrupted, the deck pivots smoothly into infinite extra turns with Tivit, Seller of Secrets and Time Sieve, or overwhelms the board through flying Sphinx beatdown.
