Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue spellslinger control strategy built around Eluge, the Shoreless Sea. Eluge functions as both an accelerating mana engine and a scaling combat win condition. Whenever Eluge enters the battlefield or attacks, it places a flood counter on a land, turning it into an Island and granting a cumulative {U} or {1} discount to the first instant or sorcery you cast on each turn. This allows you to interact efficiently on opponents' turns using single-mana or free counterspells like Counterspell, Mana Drain, and Archmage's Charm. As flood counters accumulate, you transition into overwhelming high-mana payoffs, including Time Stretch, Expropriate, Flow of Knowledge, and an overloaded Cyclonic Rift. The deck closes games through lethal commander combat damage enabled by Islandwalk or Rogue's Passage, supplemented by swarms of flying tokens from Talrand, Sky Summoner and Murmuring Mystic.
