Meren & Grist by Wernerv24

Deck overview

This is a classic Golgari aristocrats-reanimator list helmed by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The deck sacrifices creatures to build experience counters, drains the table with death-trigger payoffs, and uses Meren's end-step reanimation as a relentless engine. Primary wins come from infinite sacrifice loops (sticky fodder + Ashnod's Altar + Pitiless Plunderer + a drain piece) or overwhelming value via mass reanimation (Living Death, Rise of the Dark Realms) and big ETB threats. Secondary plans include grinding with Syr Konrad, the Grim, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and token swarms from the two Grists and Hornet Queen. Fiend Artisan and Birthing Pod provide toolbox access while Buried Alive stockpiles the graveyard. Meren is the central recursion engine but the 99 contains fully independent combo lines and recursion, so the deck still functions when she is answered.
