Deck overview

This list is a competitive, high-velocity mono-black combo deck piloted by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. The core strategy leverages K'rrik's ability to substitute life for black mana, converting life totals into rapid acceleration and massive card draw. The primary path to victory involves deploying early fast mana to land K'rrik on turn 2 or 3, casting Buried Alive or Entomb to place Necrotic Ooze, Asmodeus the Archfiend, and Skirge Familiar into the graveyard, and reanimating the Ooze. Because the Ooze gains activated abilities without Asmodeus's restrictive draw-replacement text, it draws the entire library using black mana generated by pitching cards to Skirge Familiar. The turn finishes deterministically with Aetherflux Reservoir, using storm counts to eliminate all three opponents on the spot.
