Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Equipment Voltron build centered on Winter Soldier, Icy Assassin. The commander benefits heavily from attached equipment, gaining +2/+0 for each piece alongside natural vigilance and menace. The strategy focuses on deploying low-cost equipment, bypassing equip costs using engines like Puresteel Paladin, Forge Anew, and Sigarda's Aid, and tutoring key weapons like Colossus Hammer and Genji Glove. Once equipped, Winter Soldier presents an immediate lethal commander damage threat on Turn 4, systematically eliminating opponents one by one over subsequent combat phases. The deck features an exceptionally deep suite of 1-mana protection spells, flash equipment, and phasing tools to ensure the commander survives removal. Should Winter Soldier die, his built-in activated ability returns him directly from the graveyard to the battlefield attached to an equipment, granting strong structural resilience.
