Deck overview

This deck is an Esper topdeck control build led by Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. Its core strategy revolves around manipulating the top card of the library using tutors and artifacts, then attacking with Yennett to cast massive, odd-costed spells for free. By cheating high-impact cards such as Expropriate, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, and In Garruk's Wake into play as early as Turn 5, the deck bypasses high mana requirements and seizes control of the board. An array of stax creatures like Angelic Arbiter and Archfiend of Depravity heavily restricts opposing attacks and spellcasting, while extra-turn spells grant additional combat phases to close out the game with evasive combat damage. Supporting counterspells, spot removal, and defensive enchantments safeguard the board and slow down opponents. While the plan heavily depends on Yennett surviving to attack, the deck can also pivot to hardcasting its late-game bombs.
