Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger control and pillowfort deck helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The strategy focuses on establishing defensive attack taxes with cards like Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, and Sphere of Safety to shut down combat pressure while developing mana. Once Y'shtola enters the battlefield, casting noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater triggers her ability to deal 2 damage to each opponent and gain 2 life. Attaching auras such as Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Helm of the Ghastlord to Y'shtola amplifies this effect dramatically, drawing three cards per trigger because she damages each opponent simultaneously. The deck maintains control using efficient counterspells, untap spells like Rewind, and board wipes like Cyclonic Rift. Life gain is further weaponized by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to accelerate opponent life loss, enabling the deck to burn out the entire table across turns 6 to 8 while maintaining a fortress of defense.
