Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Token Copy and Blink Midrange build piloted by Niko, Light of Hope. The central strategy revolves around generating Shard enchantment tokens with Niko and utilizing their ability to become copies of high-impact nonlegendary creatures. Because Shard tokens created on earlier turns do not have summoning sickness, transforming them into formidable threats like Hero of Bladehold, Silverwing Squadron, or Angel of Invention allows immediate, explosive combat swings. The deck integrates a robust blink engine featuring Soulherder, Teleportation Circle, and Displacer Kitten to continually reset ETB triggers, refill hands via Mulldrifter, and generate additional Shards. A dense suite of low-cost interaction and format-elite protection spells—including Dawn's Truce, Guardian of Faith, Blacksmith's Skill, and efficient countermagic—shields the board against wipes and spot removal. By pairing explosive token bursts with resilient defensive layers, the deck steadily outvalues the table and closes games through decisive combat pressure.
