Commander: Ares, God of War

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Ares, God of War leads a fast BR extra-combat deck. The goal is to chain multiple combat phases with Combat Celebrant, Port Razer, Bloodthirster, Scourge of the Throne, or Karlach, using Helm of the Host or Aggravated Assault to loop, while rituals, Treasures, and Sneak Attack cheat out threats. Ares supplies sticky, on-theme recursion: when attackers die in combat or are sacrificed, he returns them to hand for reuse. Graveyard recursion (Underworld Breach, Reanimate, Living Death) adds a robust second layer. The deck can also win via Terror of the Peaks triggers from copied creatures. It functions with or without the commander, and its main weakness is a lack of stack protection for the combo turn.
