Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Aristocrats and Control strategy led by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. It establishes early acceleration using efficient mana rocks and cost reducers like Jet Medallion to deploy sacrifice outlets, drain payoffs, and recurring fodder by Turn 4. The deck transitions into a dominant mid-game on Turn 5 by leveraging Yawgmoth, Thran Physician for board control and massive card draw, or casting Avacyn, Angel of Horror to turn sacrifice effects like Plaguecrafter and Fleshbag Marauder into asymmetric, recurring end-step board wipes. Stax pieces such as Infernal Darkness choke opposing mana while the deck's life-drain engines compound across table rotations. The game is closed on Turn 7 through incremental multi-opponent life drain from Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, supported by lethal aerial pressure from an 8/8 flying commander. Resilient death triggers and reanimation ensure fast recovery against opposing interaction.
